31 Days to His Heart :: Jesus unleashes His compassionate heart {Day #13}

31 Days Button

Thank you for visiting Fan the Flame!

I’m humbly treading the hallowed ground of the Heart of God for the 31 days of October.  First we look deep into the Beauty of His heart, shown through God the Father and His Son Jesus, then, we peer into the fragile and yet powerful role of our own hearts as we seek His and learn to live it in this world.  To read the entire series go{here} 31 Days to His Heart.

May YOU be blessed with a touch of Him TODAY…He who desires and is Fully Worthy of ALL of our hearts!

Can you see His eyes, the way He looks, his heart moved?

Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Matthew 14:14
When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Matthew 15:32
[ Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand ] Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way."

Mark 6:34
When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.

Luke 7:13
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."

Luke 15:20
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

Although this reference will be a bit sketchy, in one of Tim Keller’s sermons on the story of the Prodigal Son he notes a study on ‘the emotions of Jesus’ and compassion is the one that is most expressed by Him.

And there it is.

God’s heart unleashed through His flesh and bones manifestation in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, who is moved with an overwhelming compassion and so He feeds, heals, restores, welcomes home.

Ah, yes, this heart of God.

When we share about the ministry God has called us to, we often use the verse in Matthew that reads, ‘When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.’

And it gets me every time.

This heart of God that sees and is unshielded by all of the holy and transcendent and self-sufficient that would keep Him rightly and justly apart.  The soft underbelly that stirs and pours out His heart…

Can you hear the sweet, holy words of the Savior:

“I see you.  I see your pain.  I see your misery.  I see how you are harassed by all that is wrong and cold and cruel in this world.  I see your helplessness and I cannot bear it.

I am Alpha and Omega come that the beginning and end of your story might be Glory…you might be prince and princess of the King of Kings, beloved son and daughter of the Abba Father God.  I cannot and will not hold back this heart that aches to make you what I always intended you to be.

Bearing my Image…spotlessly.

Full of hope.

Full of Life.

Full of Love.

Home and safe…in my arms.

Come, beloved, come to my heart that I might bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes, oil of gladness instead of mourning, garment of praise instead of spirit of despair.

You cannot fathom what the depths of wonder my heart poured out to you, for you, will make you.

I am the heart of God come to walk into your life and show you all that it is to be fully enfolded in the affection of God who will ever be your Abba Father as I lead you to Him.

All of eternity has been waiting for this heart of God to be fully unleashed that all that is Forever Beautiful might come to be.”

Praying His Heart

Lord Jesus, I say Yes to Your compassion.  I need every last bit of it.  I am overwhelmed to find what you long to give and nothing seems better than to walk right into Your Heart, Heart of God of Very God made flesh.  Change me by the wonder that is Only You.

with all of my heart to all of Your heart, I pray,
