Five Minute Friday: When I look in the mirror…

Here is the prompt from Lisa-Jo’s Five Minute Fridays…you must join us!

1. Write for only five minutes.
2. Link back here and invite others to play along.
3. Go salute the five minute artist who linked up before you.

It’s fun, creative, and challenging. And there’s a beautiful leather journal in it for one of you from DaySpring.

When I look in the mirror, I see…

Go:

I see a woman who is energized.  A woman who is slowly peeling back the layers and yet, sees the wrinkles of time touch the corners of her face.

I see a woman who is finding a calling that was lost, necessarily and heart-breakingly for a 10 year season and it is time to pick it back up again.  I see a woman who the years are being given back to and knows that if this is a taste of eternity…well, it WILL BE amazing beyond description.

I see a woman who is afraid.  in ways that must be relinquished and certain victory gained, but also afraid in good ways.  Afraid to dream too much that she misses the gems that still hold chub and lives fully in front of them.  Afraid to forget that the time is short, HE IS COMING BACK, and may this one life count for THAT DAY.  I see a woman who wants to be ever surrendered to His Kingdom purposes…who will sacrifice all worldly reason to not miss seeing His Kingdom come—not her own.  I see a woman that loves to love and as long as that love is alive in her heart, well, she doesn’t have to fear the growing old, for she will be richer and fuller of the expectation of the forever young and free that will be hers one day.

I see a woman that can’t wait to see what He has in store.

Stop.

I did this writing prompt after I came home from the first night of the Synergy 2011 conference.  Not a blogging conference. Not a writer’s conference.  But both and YET, SO MUCH MORE.  Kingdom.  Pursuing His call as women.  Dreaming…Rising up to be the Half the Church that we are.  Loosing the bonds of injustice for the silenced millions world-wide who are our sisters…I am so glad I am able to be here!  Come next year, for me, as I will be over the ocean and unable to go…carry the torch…fan the flame!

{Oh, and I will be offering my first giveaway—the newly released (at this conference) book, Half the Church, the latest by Carolyn Custis James}
